Services
Radio Bronglais FM provides a number of different services and contributions to not just Bronglais General Hospital, but also to the local community in Aberystwyth and the wider population of mid Wales. Besides from broadcasting a friendly and professional radio service, RB FM volunteers are also involved in befriending visits to patients and staff, as well contributing to local events in the area. Fancy getting involved with any of these services? Please get in touch.
FM Broadcasting
Radio Bronglais broadcasts on 87.8FM to the Bronglais community. The OFCOM regulated L-RSL FM service was a replacement for the original local bedside units that were removed from Bronglais Hospital wards, and led to the successful application to build an external studio building on the Bronglais Hospital grounds in 1999.
Today, the Radio Bronglais FM service transmits 24hrs a day on 87.8FM to the wider Aberystwyth community. Our current FM broadcasting equipment was kindly financed by the League of Friends of Bronglais Hospital in 2014.

Online Broadcasting
In 2013 Radio Bronglais FM also began streaming its radio service online, allowing it to be accessible to a much wider audience. Later that year it added an extra dimension to its broadcasting with the addition of live studio webcams, allowing listeners to see behind the scenes on a live radio show.
In 2014, the online aspect allowed the recording and retention of live shows. Listeners are now able to listen back on recorded shows they missed during live broadcasting. Check out this part of our service by visiting our Listen Again page.

Ward Visits
Radio Bronglais FM primarily exists to provide a free, comforting and entertaining radio service to the patients and staff of Bronglais General Hospital. Face-to-face befriending visits by our volunteers to the wards of the hospital are paramount to our commitment to continue to provide this service.
Radio Bronglais FM endeavours to provide regular and supportive visits to all applicable wards within the hospital to meet with and listen to both staff and patients. If you'd like to support this side of our service as a Befriending Volunteer, please get in touch.
